Edit Task
Business need
The edit feature allows users to keep their to-do lists up to date. You can clarify details, move tasks between categories, and change deadlines. This provides flexibility in managing personal time and maintaining order in your digital space.
Availability
Available to all authorized users.
The tasks module is private. You can only edit and view your own tasks. Financial roles from other modules do not apply here, and none of the members of your shared budgets have access to your lists.
Location
You can navigate to editing an existing task as follows:
- Tap the Tasks icon in the bottom navigation menu.
- Find the required task card on the main screen in the calendar widget or inside a specific category on the active or closed tabs.
- Tap the task card itself, avoiding clicking the completion checkbox.
Instructions
On the opened Edit Task screen, you can make the necessary changes:
- Edit the text in the required Description * field. The field supports text formatting through a special toolbar.
- Select a new group in the Category field to move the task. If you leave the field empty, the task will automatically move to the systemic Uncategorized folder.
- Change or remove the deadline in the Deadline field. To delete the current date, tap the cross icon inside the field.
- Manage attached files in the Add Photo section. You can add new photos or delete existing ones by tapping the cross icon on the thumbnail of a specific photo.
- To save your changes, tap the Save button at the bottom of the screen.
Expected result
Upon tapping the Save button, the interface is blocked by a white loading indicator. After a successful save, the screen smoothly closes, and a green Task saved successfully notification appears at the top.
In all cases, the task list on the previous screen is updated instantly. If you change a task's status to closed, it will be sorted on the completed tab based on the exact time of completion.
Questions and answers
How can I change the category of an existing task?
Open the task, tap the Category field, and select a new folder from the list. Then save your changes.
Can I remove a deadline if I no longer need it?
Yes. Open the task to edit it. In the Deadline field, tap the small cross icon next to the date, and then save your changes. The task will remain in its category but will disappear from the calendar widget.
Is it possible to delete just one attached photo?
Yes. Find the required photo in the images section and tap the cross icon on its thumbnail, then save the task. The deleted file will be physically erased from the servers.
Can I edit a closed task?
Yes. Closed tasks are located on a separate tab but remain fully accessible for editing. You can update the description or uncheck the completion box to return the task to the active list.
Possible errors
Interface validation errors:
- Required text under the Description * field - appears if you completely erase the description and try to save the task.
- Maximum 10 photos allowed notification - appears if the total limit is exceeded when adding new photos.
System errors:
- Not found notification - occurs if the task was already deleted on another device, but you tried to save it.
- Category does not belong to the current user notification - indicates a synchronization failure when selecting a category.
- Date has wrong format notification - occurs due to a technical failure of the selected deadline format.
- Given token not valid notification - means your session has expired and you need to log into your account again.
