Overview of the private task tracker features: creation, editing, sorting, and deletion.

Business Need

The tasks module in Small Metrics is a built-in functional task tracker. It is designed to be fast and visually clean to help users keep all their affairs under control without being overloaded by complex interfaces. It is your personal digital assistant that allows you to offload your memory, set priorities for the day, and track the progress of your plans within a single ecosystem.

Availability

Available to all authorized users.

The tasks module is completely private. Financial roles from other modules do not apply here. All created tasks, categories, deadlines, and attached photos are accessible exclusively to the account owner.

Location

Access to the module is available from any screen of the application:

  1. Tap the Tasks icon in the bottom navigation menu.
  2. The main screen of the module will open, featuring a calendar widget and a list of your categories.

Core Features

The module provides a comprehensive set of tools for working with your affairs. The main functions are described below:

  • Task Creation - you can quickly record new tasks by tapping the Add task button. The form allows you to add a text description with basic Markdown formatting, select a category, set a deadline, and attach up to 10 photos. If no category is selected, the task will automatically go into the systemic Uncategorized folder.
  • Editing and Statuses - any task can be opened to change its details. You can move affairs between categories, remove deadlines, or update attached photos. To complete a task, simply tap the checkbox - it will move to the closed tasks tab, preserving the entire history.
  • Drag-and-Drop Sorting - manual prioritization is available for active tasks in the To Do tab. Press and hold the drag handle on a task card to move it to the desired position in the list. Completed affairs are sorted automatically based on their closing time.
  • Deletion - if a task was created by mistake or has completely lost its relevance, you can permanently erase it. To do this, open the edit screen and tap the red trash bin icon. The system always requests confirmation since data is physically and permanently deleted.

Expected Result

By using the tasks module, you get a structured space where every affair is in its place. The intelligent calendar widget automatically collects tasks with deadlines from all categories and groups them by day, while instant synchronization ensures your lists are always up to date across all devices.

Possible Errors

Standard network or system errors may occur when working with the module:

  • Connection timed out. Please try again notification - indicates an unstable internet connection.
  • Given token not valid notification - informs you that your security session has expired and a re-login is required.
